REVERSE CONFIGURATION
When weather is extreme winter (-30°F) and products must not freeze on the road, most of times, Reefers are also used, because they also have heating capabilities, but that comes at a price, please read our article “Savings vs Reefers”.
But as we always said, there is another way, and that is using a dry conventional trailer with our Industrial Coolers.
We called “Reverse” because most of the times our Industrial Cooler are used to keep either frozen or refrigerated products protected from the ambient heat, and in this case what they do is protect the goods from the extreme cold outside so the products won´t froze on the delivery route.
Providing your products leave your distribution center at 65°F for conventional dry, you just place them inside our Industrial Cooler and if the ambient temperature is -10°F and your limit temperature in your product is 41°F because you want to be sure it will not froze, then even without any Ice Packs ( or Hot Pack ) you have more than 20 hours total transport time protection.
Examples of the products described in the paragraph before are paints, chemicals, and anything that if got frozen will lose its characteristics.
Another example is fruits and vegetables that most times are kept in the distribution center around 41°F, and when in the route you do not want them to freeze. In this case since we are so close to 32°F maybe some Hot Packs need to be added.
Let´s see if you are sure your total transport time is 12 hours or less then you have no problem.
But if you need longer transport time, then we add Hot Packs, and problem solve.
For all customers and all possible configurations, we do have a solution that suits you perfectly; to fine tune it we always visit your distribution center and examine from close all details.
