Industrial Coolers vs Ancient Blue Dry Ice Box

Many are familiar with the ancient blue plastic boxes most times used in USA to transport frozen with the help of dry ice.

Depending on which state you are, and which company is your dry ice vendor, they may change in appearance a bit, two examples here below.

Also, on many occasions, the customer gets these boxes for “free” or at a very reduced price, usually 500$, in exchange for signing one year contract for dry ice supply. Sounds almost sweet, doesn’t it?

Well guess what, those boxes are specially designed to look strong to your eyes but have very poor thermal insulation capabilities, so the dry ice that you are going to pay for by the pound melts away in gas very fast, equivalent to evaporating your money.

When you sign a contrac for a year supply dry ice, price goes down maybe up to 1,50 $ each pound. And most likely you are above 100 pounds of dry ice daily.

So let´s make a quick math here:

Imagine that your distributions works 22 days a month and you use 100 pounds of dry ice a day. That means 22 days x 100 pounds/day = 2.200 pounds each month.

Now, in a year round that is 12 x 2.200 pounds = 26.400 pounds a year.

Spent money in a year time in dry ice 26.400 pounds x 1,50 $/pound = 39.600,00 $ !!!!!

So if the thermal insulation on your box is twice stronger or more, then you save half of that money or more each year.

Do you get now why they give you those boxes for “free” or reduced price?

We have an example of a customer in Houston that was spending 125.000,00 $ a year in dry ice, they bought 8 Industrial Coolers from us at 28.000,00 $ and never again paid a dime for dry ice or anything similar. Investment recovered in few months.

All that money is savings from that moment on, year afther year afther year.

That is the magic of the Industrial Cooler + Industrial Ice Packs, paid once and used for ever.

Here we like to note that: life spectancy of an Industrial Cooler even in extreme harsh conditions is 8 years, and they can be refurbished for a small amount and work 6 years more.
